Readers of all ages can keep up with their reading skills and win prizes with this year’s Summer Reading Quest from the Kenton County Public Library.
Centered on the theme of Heroes, Myths and Legends, “this free program encourages reading, creativity and discovery through themed events, interactive activities and exciting prizes,” according to a press release from the library.
“The Kenton County Public Library has offered a Summer Reading Program since 1931,” said Dave Schroeder, the library’s executive director, in the same release. “When children continue reading over the summer, they are more likely to retain skills and avoid learning loss. And when adults read, they set a powerful example showing young readers that reading is a lifelong habit worth following.”
The program is available to all ages with prizes like t-shirts, tote bags and prepaid Visa gift cards. Kick-off events will take place at several of the library’s branches on Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31.
