Kenton County Animal Services officially welcomed Kelly Sauer as its new director on May 5.
“Born and raised in the Cincinnati area, Sauer brings more than a decade of hands-on experience in animal welfare and a deep commitment to building a safer, more compassionate community for people and pets alike,” according to a press release from the county.
In her role as director, Sauer will manage shelter operations, field work, community initiatives and generally work to enforce animal welfare laws in the county. Prior to joining Kenton County, Sauer served as a community support manager for an organization called Cincinnati Animal CARE.
A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, she “has spent her career championing the no-kill movement and strengthening the human-animal bond,” according to the county’s press release.
