The City of Erlanger celebrated outgoing councilwoman Vicki Kyle for her 28 years of service Tuesday evening.

At the council’s caucus meeting Mayor Jessica Fette honored Kyle for her years of service with a proclamation declaring Jan. 22, 2025 Vicki Kyle Day. The proclamation not only celebrated Kyle’s time on council, but also her time as a public servant as an educator of 42 years between Lloyd High School and Saint Henry District High School.

Since joining council in 1996, Kyle has dedicated herself to multiple projects, including the painting of the underpass by the Railroad Depot and creating scholarship funds. She has also dedicated her time to multiple committees like the beautification task force and park planning task force.

When interviewed by LINK nky back in November, Kyle said her focuses as a council member were keeping taxes low, developing businesses and citizen engagement. Kyle also said she always strived to meet people in the middle when addressing concerns with both council members and citizens.

“Remember to keep an open mind,” Kyle said as she thanked the council for the proclamation. Kyle also reminded the council that although she is no longer on council, they won’t be “rid of her yet” and to expect her at multiple committee meetings.

Last month, council member Don Skidmore also retired from the council after 10 years of service. Newcomers Michele Fields and Chris Farmer have begun serving terms in their places.
