Council members and city staff in Bellevue took the opportunity to thank existing members on Wednesday.

Half of the council will be new in 2025. Newly elected members Chasity Bowman, Kara Harp and John Ondeck have attended the last two council meetings.

The mayor and council members praised the work of their colleagues, Sean Fisher, Pat Hogan and Ryan Salzman, who are leaving.

“I’m going to miss the three council members,” said council member Steve Guidugli. “These guys have been a part of this team in Bellevue for a long time and have done an excellent job. This is probably the best city council I’ve ever served with. And I appreciate your guys’ service as citizens and all the positivity that you bring and have brought.”

Council member Mike Almoslechner recounted how he first met and helped recruit Salzman and, later, the other members to the council.

“I have made no bones about it,” said Almoslechner. “I really hate to see you leave, but I welcome the new people that are here tonight. We’re going to carry on, but I want to wish every one of you the best in your next endeavors,” he said.

Council member Shauna Kruse added, “You made a really big impact on the community of Bellevue, and I appreciate it. And thank you for making me run because I actually do enjoy serving. It’s been great working with you guys. We’re excited to welcome the three new members as well.”
