Anthony “Tony” Proccacino, the principal of Scott High School, tendered his resignation on Nov. 22, the school district confirmed with LINK nky on Monday.
Proccacino was brought on as Scott High School’s principal in July. He formerly served as the principal of White’s Tower Elementary School in Independence for 10 years.
Proccacino was placed on leave in October after police obtained videos of him serving alcohol to two underage teenagers at his house in Independence on New Year’s Eve, 2023, while still working as the principal at White’s Tower. Kenton County Police later charged Proccacino with two counts of aiding or assisting any person under 21 from being served alcoholic beverages, a misdemeanor. The police released one of the videos to media outlets.
“The complaint was brought forth by the mother of one of the involved juveniles, who also provided videos of the incident,” according to a press release from Sgt. Aaron Schihl with the Kenton County Police Department.
“The juveniles observed in the videos have been identified as students of Scott and Simon Kenton High Schools and ranged in age from 16 to 17 years at the time of the incident,” Schihl said in the release.
Cody Wolf was assigned as interim principal of Scott High School after Procaccino went on leave.
Procaccino’s resignation did not appear among this month’s personnel actions before the Kenton County Board of Education. Jess Dykes, the district’s communications director, stated that the timing of Procaccino’s resignation at the end of the month prevented it from being added to the docket. His resignation will appear on the personnel updates for the board in January.
Dykes said the district has already begun advertising for the open principal position and is following its normal hiring process.
Procaccino’s criminal case is ongoing. He’s scheduled for a diversion hearing on Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m.
