Saint Agnes school in Fort Wright is engaging its students in a mock election coined the “Doggie Election.”
The Doggie Election offers students a way to learn about the electoral process featuring dogs as candidates. Students registered to vote as either “Repuppycan” or “Dogocrat” and participated in a lively assembly where they met the six candidates, each accompanied by their own secret service detail.
Following a primary election to narrow down the candidates, students are gearing up for the final vote for doggie president of the school on Nov. 4. The junior high school even calculated the electoral college by grade level, aiming for 270 votes.
