The OneNKY Alliance Summit focuses on providing Northern Kentucky business and community leaders with the opportunity to learn about the nonprofit’s various initiatives and participate in collaborative discussions about improving the region.
The theme of this year’s summit, the seventh annual, is “Changing it Up in OneNKY: a Systemic Focus on Excellence.” This includes ramping up an awareness campaign regarding a number of the organization’s community initiatives that are designed to create regional unity and connectivity.
“We’re looking systemically across the community, and that’s something we’ve always done, but we’re really taking that message to the community with our initiatives and asking folks to get involved,” OneNKY Executive Director Karen Finan told LINK nky.
The summit is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center in Erlanger. It will be moderated by former WCPO anchor Evan Millward.
Updates will be provided on several OneNKY initiatives, including:
- OneNKY Center: a centrally-located facility housing key growth organizations under one roof to accelerate strategic regional growth. It will open in 2025.
- OneNKY Frankfort: a facility within steps of the capitol that provides the region’s organizations and leaders voice, presence and united impact with legislators and decision-makers.
- LINK nky: a multi-media independent news platform, now in its third year, to share local information and create a sense of place for residents.
- EducateNKY: an organization that identifies and focuses on addressing the needs of Northern Kentucky student populations through a systemic combination of educational strategies.
- Breathe Easy NKY: a grassroots effort to improve public health, economic outlook, and overall quality of life through the passage of comprehensive smoke-free ordinances in Northern Kentucky.
The summit agenda also offers interactive breakouts to encourage attendees to focus on priorities as they discuss opportunities for future success in the region.
Additionally, OneNKY’s NKY Regional Identity effort will be updated. This effort aims to craft an external narrative to help recruit new business, talent, and tourism to the region.
“I think our purpose is clearly to harness the energy that we’re feeling in the market,” Finan said. “People are very positive about moving forward, and really adopting a systemic mindset is the purpose of this Summit. That’s what we hope people, don’t just take away, but they start to get involved as a reason. We want that excitement to be contagious.”
