The Kenton County Planning Commission unanimously approved a recommendation to revise Fort Wright’s zoning ordinance on Thursday.
The proposed ordinance aims “to replace the current zoning ordinance with a new ordinance that recognizes Fort Wright’s development patterns, streamlines processes, and addresses new development trends,” according to application documents from Kenton County Planning and Development Services.
The new zoning plan reduces the overall number of zones in Fort Wright to 14, down from the 32 currently in place. The new ordinance will not affect zoning approvals that occurred before.

The proposed ordinance will now go to the Fort Wright City Council for two readings and a vote.
