Highland Heights City Council reviewed their annual audit during Tuesday night’s meeting.

The city heard a presentation from Andy DeMoss, a CPA with RFH, an external accountant consulting agency based in Lexington, Kentucky.

DeMoss said the report looked favorable toward the city overall.

“You’ll see the city’s assets have grown quite a bit in the last few years as you got the ARPA [American Rescue Plan] funds,” DeMoss said. “We have seen some major growth in the last few years.”

DeMoss added that things looked comparable to the 2022-2023 financial year.

“Your receivables were up, cash was a little down, but overall, it’s pretty comparable to the prior years,” DeMoss said.

The city’s expenses totaled $5.5 million, a decrease from the previous year, according to the presentation.

Highland Heights Mayor Greg Meyers said he feels this year’s audit was good news for the city.

“The presentation was excellent,” Meyers said. “It’s a great presentation at the same auditing firm that’s been here for the 17 years I’ve spent as mayor and the additional four years I spent on council, so I feel really comfortable with this firm out of Lexington.”
