Bellevue is getting in on the magic of the new “Wonka” movie with its own golden ticket winners.

The city has prepared 1,000 boxes of candy filled with an assortment of Schneider’s Sweet Shop treats. Among the boxes, there are 10 golden tickets hidden. Those who discover one of the tickets will receive a prize from one of the city’s businesses and two tickets to see the new movie.

Everyone who wins a golden ticket will be entered in the grand prize drawing to win the Schneider’s Sweet Shop experience. The experience will include a factory tour, including how fudge and caramels are made. Winners will get to make their own batch of Nonpareils and keep what they make. They will also get a 1-pound box with whatever candy they desire.

Boxes will be available for $5 starting on Nov. 3, and they will be open until supplies run out. Participating businesses along the 200-700 Blocks of Fairfield Avenue and Schneider’s Sweet Shop will offer the candy boxes for sale. The promotion concludes on Dec. 15 with an event scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. to select the grand prize winner.
