As Halloween approaches, Bellevue invites residents and visitors to spend an evening exploring the mysterious side of the city’s past.

Boo in the Vue, a free guided ghost walk, takes place Oct. 16, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., beginning at 119 Fairfield Ave.

Bellevue historians Jim and Bev McPhail will lead participants through an eerie tour filled with ghost stories, urban legends, and tales connected to the community. The walk travels through Fairfield Avenue’s historic district, with several stops just off the Avenue, offering a different perspective on streets and places familiar to many residents.

Throughout the evening, the McPhails will share stories of hauntings, chilling events, and the mysterious story of Pearl Bryan. With local historians as guides, participants will have an opportunity to hear about the legends associated with Bellevue and the surrounding area.

Boo in the Vue brings together local storytelling, an atmospheric evening walk and Halloween anticipation. Whether participants are longtime residents, first-time visitors, history enthusiasts or simply curious about a good ghost story, the event invites them to explore the community through the tales that continue to capture people’s imaginations.

The walk also offers a chance to experience historic Fairfield Avenue after dark, when its familiar surroundings provide a setting for stories of mystery and intrigue. Friends and neighbors are encouraged to come together for an evening that puts Bellevue’s local legends at the center of the Halloween season.

The tour begins promptly at 7:30 p.m. Participants should arrive at 119 Fairfield Ave. before the start time and wear comfortable walking shoes and clothing appropriate for an outdoor October evening.
