The City of Erlanger and Erlanger Police Chief Kyle Rader honored a city police officer, Robert Martin, for exemplary service at the city council meeting on Tuesday.
Rader said the award is given to officers who set high standards for the rest of the force.

“Just one year since he has been here, he has made 70 drug arrests and filed 143 drug related charges,” said Rader upon introducing Martin.
There have been 443 drug-related charges filed by the Erlanger Police Department since July 19, 2022, according to police documents, meaning that Martin’s charges account for about 30% of the drug charges filed by the department during that time. Martin is also a member of the SWAT team.
Martin works the third shift, and Rader also took the time to recognize the service of all of the third-shift officers on the force, some of whom were in attendance at the meeting.
“He has proven time and time again that he is what we expect from our Erlanger officers,” Rader said.
