A popular Crescent Springs bottle shop and liquor store is undergoing a rebrand after being sold to a Northern Kentucky liquor store franchise.

The primary Cork ‘n Bottle store inside the Buttermilk Shoppes shopping center in Crescent Springs will be Good Spirits Wine & Tobacco going forward, a store employee confirmed to LINK nky. On Google, the 584 Buttermilk Pike location is now listed as Good Spirits. The location is in the process of transitioning its branding.

On July 28, Good Spirits announced their purchase of Cork ‘n Bottle’s Crescent Springs store on Facebook.

“Cork n Bottle on Buttermilk Pike will soon become Good Spirits!! Yay!! But we have acquired some of their store picks,” read the post. “Stop by our location to get a bottle today. And be ready for a grand opening coming soon at Buttermilk.”

Good Spirits has other locations across Northern Kentucky, including storefronts in Hebron, Taylor Mill, Erlanger, Covington and two in Independence. Good Spirits is owned and operated by Krishi Inc., according to opencorporates.com.

Cork ‘n Bottle has two kiosk locations in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport; one in Concourse A and another in Concourse B. Both kiosk locations will remain open and continue to sport Cork ‘n Bottle branding, CVG spokesperson Mindy Kershner told LINK nky.

Founded in 1964 by Gordon Hue, Cork ‘n Bottle’s first store was in Covington, located off the I-75 exit ramp heading southbound from Cincinnati. In 2014, the three LLCs controlling Cork ‘n Bottle defaulted on two Bank of Kentucky loans which forced a sale. Cincinnati real estate developer Tom Neyer Jr. was part of the ownership group that purchased Cork ‘n Bottle Inc.

After the sale, Cork ‘n Bottle’s Covington location closed. Today, Liquor City Uncorked occupies the building.
