Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell froze as he spoke at a Washington press conference on Wednesday and was briefly escorted from a press conference before returning to answer questions.

The senate minority leader approached the podium to speak and appeared to have lost his thought. He talked about the annual defense bill before trailing off and not speaking for around 20 seconds before other legislators helped pull him away.

He then returned to answer questions from the press and said he was “fine.”

McConnell took a six-week absence from the Senate after falling and hitting his head earlier this year; he suffered a fractured rib and concussion.
