Highland Heights City Council passed a resolution to schedule a public hearing for Councilmember Edward Fessler, who was arrested back in February after admitting to drug possession and trafficking

The resolution that passed Tuesday comes after the council voted to charge Fessler with misconduct at the last city council meeting in late March.

According to city attorney Michele Eviston, there hasn’t been any response from Fessler or his attorney, and his seat has remained empty since March.

The public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 16, 2023, during the regularly scheduled city council meeting.

An outside legal team would be hired by the city to present the evidence against Fessler. Depending on the results of this public hearing, Fessler could be removed from the council.
