Gov. Andy Beshear raised $1.05 million for his reelection campaign in the third quarter of 2022. Beshear has now raised more than a million dollars in each quarter since filing for reelection and has more than $4.15 million on hand.
Beshear’s strong fundraising report follows yet another poll showing that more than 60% of Kentuckians approve of his job as governor, approaching three years into his term. And it comes on the heels of Kentucky leading the nation in job growth in August.
“I am honored by the confidence Kentuckians continue to show in the work we are doing every day to make the lives of our people better,” Beshear said.
Beshear has touted his record on economic growth in Kentucky, while also navigating the state through two major weather events, with tornadoes in striking Western Kentucky in December 2021 and floods devastating Eastern Kentucky earlier this year.
Republicans in the legislature have also been claiming victory for job growth and economic development in the Commonwealth.
“With record new job announcements and a strong-and-getting-stronger economy, we’ve made it through some tough times and are now in a position to thrive,” Beshear said. “It is heart-warming to see folks from across the state pitch in to keep Kentucky moving forward.”
The fundraising announcement also comes on the heels of a poll showing that Beshear has a 62% approval rating. The poll, which was conducted by the Democratic Governors Association, showed that 42% of voters who approved of former President Donald Trump also approve of Beshear.
