Intermittent closures are planned again for the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet – District 6 office announced that a scheduled inspection will start Monday, August 1 with inspectors working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

An estimated completion date of August 10 was also announced.

The bridge will be closed intermittently as equipment has to be moved, KYTC District 6 said, and one pedestrian walkway will be closed throughout the inspection.

Six closures of up to sixty minutes each could happen between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and/or 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., the announcement said.

The bridge reopened in April after more than a year-long closure as part of a restoration project of the 155-year old span that connects Covington to Cincinnati over the Ohio River.
