A new traffic signal is now active at the intersection of Lowell Street (KY 9) and 12th Street in Newport.

Additionally, at the request of the City of Newport, the city-maintained traffic signal on 12th Street and Brighton Street will be changed to operate as a four-way stop with all directions flashing red.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 said on Facebook that it will be reviewing signal timing and phasing over the coming days and weeks following the signal being activated. Some adjustments may be made at the intersection to allow for traffic to flow more efficiently.
