Flaming margaritas are coming to Newport on the Levee.
Cincinnati-based Mexican restaurant franchise Mi Cozumel is set to open inside the riverfront development this summer.
The local chain is known for its signature Margarita Tower and interactive dining experiences, including made-to-order guacamole and tableside flaming Fajitas. The upcoming Newport on the Levee restaurant will be the second Northern Kentucky location, with another planned for Florence.
The new restaurant will occupy a 5,770-square-foot space formerly home to Amador, a Cuban eatery that closed in January. According to a press release from Jamestown, which owns Newport on the Levee, Mi Cozumel is scheduled to open this summer.
“Proudly family owned and operated, we focus on creating an extensive, unique drink menu that incorporates over 40 flavors of margaritas and providing guests with an exotic experience – like traveling to the beautiful island of Cozumel without leaving the area,” Mi Cozumel CEO Liliana Jaime said in a news release. “We wanted to extend our concept to Northern Kentucky and bring our vibrant energy to The Levee. Stay tuned for many surprises, including new menu items like unforgettable daiquiris for the little ones.”
