Parts of Madison Avenue, Scott Street and Robbins Street in Covington will close to allow for a Eucharist procession on Sunday, June 11, in celebration of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, a Catholic feast day in honor of the sacrament of Holy Communion.
“The procession will exit the Cathedral, turn north on Madison Avenue,” said a release from the Diocese of Covington. “Then turn east on Robbins Street, where the monstrance will be placed on a temporary altar for prayers and singing. The procession will then begin again, by turning south on Scott Street, and will end at the Cathedral with a right turn into the Covington Latin School/Cathedral Scott Street parking lot.”
Vehicle access along the procession route will be suspended beginning at 2:30 p.m. and will continue until the procession ends, the release said.
