We enter year three of partnering up with OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in expanding the Team of the Week awards!
Through the first two years, $4,000 in scholarships have been handed out to the Team of the Season and Team of the Year award winners.
In order to get to that point, it starts here with the weekly Team of the Week awards.
In the same fashion as year’s past, the weekly TOW winners will then be eligible for Team of the Season. It’s typically 10 winners from that respective season that runs for fall, winter and spring sports. The Team of the Season vote comes at the end of those respective seasons where the winner is awarded a plaque and a $500 scholarship to a student-athlete of their choice.
Then it comes down to the ultimate prize…Team of the Year where the three Team of the Season winners will then be put up in a vote for another plaque for the trophy case and an additional $500 scholarship to a student-athlete of their choice.

HIGHLANDS BOYS GOLF
The Bluebirds won the Region 8 golf title for the sixth time in the last seven years last week at Pendleton Hills.
COVINGTON CATHOLIC GOLF
Covington Catholic claimed the Region 7 golf title for the first time since 2019 last week at Boone Trace.
NOTRE DAME GOLF
Notre Dame won the Region 7 golf title for the first time since 2019 with a four-stroke victory over Conner.
DIXIE HEIGHTS FOOTBALL
Dixie Heights won its second straight game with a 49-12 victory over Scott on Friday.
LUDLOW FOOTBALL
The Panthers improved to 4-2 with a 34-14 victory over Bellevue on Friday.
BEECHWOOD BOYS SOCCER
Beechwood’s boys soccer team has won seven straight games to improve to 11-3 on the season.
Last week they went 3-0 with wins over Holmes, Henry County and Gallatin County, outscoring the opponent 18-0.
LLOYD MEMORIAL GIRLS SOCCER
After an over 15-year hiatus as a program, Lloyd has won three in a row, including a 4-0 victory over Dayton. The three-game winning streak improved them to 5-6.
DAYTON VOLLEYBALL
After opening the week with a loss to Lloyd Memorial, Dayton rattled off seven straight wins including a Dayton River City Classic title.
The 7-1 week improved their overall record to 12-16.
