DBL Law’s fête of the season returned in spectacular fashion at the residence of Bob and Diane Hoffer in Fort Mitchell on Friday. Billed as a networking event with “Cocktails, lifestyle, luxury, wellness, food, and more,” there were a variety of activities and presentations for it’s guests of distinction, with something for everyone to experience.
Betsy Weber, who held the event at her home during the event’s first five years was overjoyed with the turnout.
“We started this 10 years ago, and it was an opportunity to spend the afternoon with clients in our home, in a more one-on-one environment.” Weber said. “More importantly, it was a way to introduce our clients to one another.”
When asked if she was happy to pass the event set-up/hosting/teardown torch along to Diane Hoffer, she grinned.
“Oh my, you have no idea,” Weber said. “It’s quite the endeavor, but this here, this is fantastic. What a wonderful setting to bring women together to network and make connections.”
Signature cocktails were handcrafted for guests to encourage those conversations by none other than author, historian, mixologist, and all-round renaissance woman, Molly Wellman. Blue Glitter Collins, Green Tee Margaritas, and a delectable Brunswick Sour rounded out the menu guests imbibed upon while mingling and taking in presentations on skin care, truffle making, and clothing sustainability.
Guests wrapped the hallways awaiting their turn to sit in front of the famous Victor Paruta, Clairvoyant. Obviously he must have anticipated the throngs of visitors (being clairvoyant, and all), as he was tucked away in a far corner offering privacy for him and his client to provide insight into the future and glean answers to questions of their pasts. This reporter was attentively listening in for someone to rattle off Saturday’s winning lottery numbers, or an accurate weather forecast even, but alas, none were overheard.
Luxury resale company The RealReal presented a talk about sustainability and avoiding “fast fashion” by investing in high end pieces that last a lifetime. The retailer offers an online market place to buy and sell luxury items such as handbags, wallets, and clothing. Additionally, personal shopper services are offered, where a personal stylist will curate a season’s worth of looks and styles utilizing the expansive RealReal catalog of sustainable and affordable goods.
Presentations on skin care and wellness were given by skincare specialists. Guests also had the opportunity to get their hair and nails done in a mini-beauty parlor, offering another experience that lends itself to intimate conversation and chats.
Delish Dish served up an impressive spread, with a delectable assortment of sandwiches, cupcakes, salads, and asian eats served in miniature take-out boxes. Guests could snack the afternoon away while mingling with colleagues and make new connections networking during the event.
Betsy Weber echoed this by saying, “This event is 100% an opportunity to build up relationships in Northern Kentucky.” And that rang true, with the guest list running from recent college graduates to experienced industry veterans.
Once stuffed with gourmet bites and knowledge, guests left with a handsomely prepared gift bag from DBL, stuffed with truffle treats and sparkling wine, skincare goodies and bath items.
Paul Moran, marketing director at DBL Law, said he felt the event was a successful one.
“It’s come together in a spectacular fashion,” (I see what you did there, Paul.) “Even with a little bit of atrophy since coming out of COVID and not holding this since 2019. We are thrilled that everyone could come together in a safe way, and we look forward to continuing the celebration of Women of Excellence in the future.”
