Rumors began circulating this week about the possible closing of Rio Grande in the Newport Plaza. FTM checked in with owner, Octavio Correa.
The answer, according to Correa, is no. He had confirmed that he had also heard the rumors from multiple customers but assured FTM that he had no plans for closing and was just 6 months into a new five-year lease.
It’s possible that with the closure of Remke’s and constant rumors of Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club coming to the area was the genesis of the talk, but there is no truth to this one.
