A portion of Licking Pike (KY 9) will be closed to traffic for much of next week.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet – District 6 Office said that the road will close to through-traffic between Aspen Ct. in Wilder and West 12th Street in Newport, Tuesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Floodgate work will be taking place during that time, prompting the closure.
Local traffic will still have access, though access through the floodgate area will be prohibited still.
There will be detour signs directing drivers to Moock Road (KY 1632), Monmouth Street/Alexandria Pike (U.S. 27), and 11th Street (KY 1120).
