Newport’s annual Italianfest will return for the 34th time, running from June 11 to 14.

Located along Riverboat Row between the Purple People Bridge and the Taylor-Southgate Bridge, the festival celebrates Italian-American heritage in Northern Kentucky and showcases Newport as a destination for community events, entertainment and tourism.

Italianfest was founded in 1991 and has grown into one of the largest cultural festivals in the region. The festival attracts more than 120,000 visitors annually, according to a press release from the City of Newport.

“Italianfest has become a signature event for Newport and a cherished family tradition that generations have enjoyed together for more than three decades,” Newport Mayor Tom Guidugli Jr. said in a news release.

Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy a variety of Italian dishes, live entertainment, children’s activities and views of downtown Cincinnati.

The festival will be held at Newport’s Festival Park from 5 to 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
