LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 22, 2026) – On Tuesday, April 21, Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) Insurance hosted its eighth annual Clays for a Cause fundraising event, bringing in a record-setting $401,750 in charitable donations to support the fight against food and housing insecurity in Kentucky. This event has now raised nearly $2.5 million in charitable donations since its inaugural shoot in 2019.

“Each year, Clays for a Cause reminds us what’s possible when people come together around a shared purpose,” said John Sparrow, Executive Vice President and CEO of KFB Insurance. “The continued generosity of our sponsors and participants is both humbling and inspiring, and it’s incredibly meaningful to see the real, lasting impact this event is making for Kentuckians and the communities we serve.”

The sold-out sporting clays event, held at Jefferson Gun Club in Brooks, Ky., was attended by 384 participants and supported by 57 sponsoring companies. KFB Insurance underwrites 100% of the expenses to produce this event, so every dollar raised from sponsorships, participant fees, silent auction items, and donations is given directly to the selected charities or causes.

Proceeds from this year’s proceeds will again be used to support local hunger relief efforts organized through Feeding Kentucky, Glean Kentucky, and Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry, as well as to assist the affordable housing program run by Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville.

“Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville is deeply grateful for financial support provided through the Clays for a Cause fundraiser,” said Rob Locke, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville. “This support activates people and partnerships to open the door to homeownership for deserving families.”

“Kentucky Farm Bureau has been a strong and loyal partner to Feeding Kentucky and its Farmers Feeding Kentucky program. With KFB’s support, we are able to provide millions of pounds of fresh, local products to neighbors across Kentucky, regardless of income,” added Melissa McDonald, Executive Director of Feeding Kentucky. “KFB and Feeding Kentucky are a great fit because we share the goals of supporting farmers and enhancing the quality of life for all.”

“Clays for a Cause is one of our most consistent and meaningful supporters,” said Roger LaPointe, Executive Director of Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry. “Since becoming a beneficiary of this fundraiser, our visibility has increased, leading to more venison donations and a 10 percent growth in our overall program. We are truly grateful for our partnership with Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance and the lasting difference they are helping us make for the people we serve.”

“Glean Kentucky is extremely grateful to be able to participate in Clays for a Cause again in 2026,” concluded Jennifer Palmer, Executive Director of Glean Kentucky. “The partnership with Kentucky Farm Bureau makes it possible for Glean Kentucky to rescue upwards of 254,000 pounds of produce per year and spend nearly 1,400 hours gleaning each year between the two focus regions, Central Kentucky and North Central Kentucky. By including Glean Kentucky, it shows how Kentucky Farm Bureau values the mission of ending hunger in the Commonwealth through eliminating food waste.”

The ninth annual Clays for a Cause fundraiser will be held next year on April 20, 2027. For more information about the event, visit https://www.kyfb.com/insurance/clays-for-a-cause/.
