The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce has selected its 32nd class of Regional Youth Leadership Class.

A total of 47 students from high schools in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area were chosen, including 23 from Northern Kentucky high schools.

Regional Youth Leadership aims to develop local students’ community leadership skills to retain talent in the region. The seven-month program promotes personal growth and leadership abilities like communication, teamwork and decision-making. Sessions, held monthly, cover topics including local government, economic development, arts and culture, human services, health, law, life skills, and leadership.

Students were selected through a competitive application process requiring a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrated leadership potential, and a clear interest in gaining a deeper understanding of the region and community leadership.

“Every year, we’re inspired by the drive and talent of the students who join this program, and this class is no different,” NKY Chamber Director of Leadership Ann Marie Whelan said in a news release. “We’re proud to offer them the chance to learn from influential leaders in our community, and we look forward to seeing how they apply the lessons they learn to create meaningful change in our region.”
