The Clay Wade Bailey Bridge, which traverses the Ohio River between Covington and Cincinnati, will undergo a day-long maintenance project on Tuesday, April 1, according to a recent announcement from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Crews will be working on the bridge from roughly 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Travelers should plan accordingly.

“This work will require a single right northbound lane closure on the bridge from north of West Fourth Street (KY 8) (13.5 mile point) in Covington to the Kentucky/Ohio state line (13.9 mile point), a distance of 0.4 miles,” according to the cabinet. “The sidewalk located on the east portion of the bridge will also be closed during these working hours. Pedestrians are encouraged to use the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge between Kentucky and Ohio as an alternate route.”

The cabinet hopes to have the work complete by Tuesday afternoon, weather permitting.
