A fast-growing Northern Kentucky smoothie franchise announced it’s opening its first location in Covington.
Better Blend, founded by Kenton County native Isaac Hamlin, will occupy the first-floor cafe space inside SparkHaus — a future hub for Northern Kentucky’s entrepreneurial community. Better Blend serves smoothies and smoothie bowls with a focus on healthy ingredients and nutrition facts.

“We’re so excited for the opportunity to serve the Covington community in this unique way,” Hamlin said. “The SparkHaus mission is extra special to us. It feels like a full-circle moment—entrepreneurs fueling entrepreneurs. It’s a huge honor that we’re incredibly grateful for.”
According to a Kenton County press release, the SparkHaus cafe will be a public-facing space featuring a retail section to highlight local entrepreneurs and function as a pop-up space. Additionally, SparkHaus will allow the brand to grow the catering side of the business.
“This is a big win for our tenants who will have easy access to a healthy, Northern Kentucky-based food option and the Better Blend team who will be able to utilize the startup resources SparkHaus can provide,” Blue North Executive Director Dave Knox said in the release.
SparkHaus is being constructed inside the 47,000-square-foot Simms Furniture building at 727 Madison Ave. in Covington’s Central Business District. Upon completion, Northern Kentucky-based founders, investors, and support organizations can collaborate in one central office hub.
Better Blend is the latest company to commit to operating out of SparkHaus. On Jan. 9, Kenton County revealed that venture capital firm eGateway Capital will be the building’s first tenant
Construction on SparkHaus kicked off last September. The complex is expected to open in late summer 2025, according to the release.
