It’s as though the last occupants of Covington’s Boone Block building simply vanished.
They left behind groceries, furniture, clothing, and family photos.
The historic nineteenth century structure at the intersection of Scott Boulevard and Fourth Street is currently home to a liquor store and a barber shop on its street level but is otherwise entirely vacant, and has been for some time.
The building is slated to be turned into nine luxury townhomes, which means there will be residents here again.
Photographer Thomas S. DiBello was granted full access to the Boone Block building and captured stunning images of what was left behind by the people who lived here previously. The River City News also took a tour last week and produced photos from that visit which seemed to indicate that the last tenants vacated the premises in the 1970s.Â
