The 35th District rivals Beechwood and Holy Cross will meet in the All “A” 9th Region semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m. back at Bellevue after posting victories against 34th District opponents.
Here is how they happened:
Beechwood 72, Villa Madonna 45
The Tigers hit 59% from the field in the victory.
Owen McCormack and Carson Blackburn led Beechwood with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Jack Sullivan added nine as nine different Tigers scored. Blackburn also grabbed a team-high six rebounds as the Tigers won the rebounding battle, 32-22.
Henry Thole paced Villa Madonna with 12 points and Quinn Thomas scored nine.
Beechwood (8-6) has won two in a row while Villa Madonna (6-9) had its four-game winning streak snapped. The Vikings host Lewis County at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Holy Cross 63, St. Henry 40

The Indians Nate Rominger posted a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds in the win over the Crusaders.
Holy Cross put three players in double figures. Luke Arlinghaus led the way with 15 and Jonah Crail scored 12.
St. Henry put two players in double figures. Andrew Reis scored 13 and Brady Shea scored 12.
The Indians (10-4) won the rebounding battle, 38-25.
St. Henry (5-10) does not play again until Jan. 16 at Bishop Brossart at 7:30 p.m.
Cooper 79, Highlands 63
The Jaguars hit the road and won the 9th Region battle in their first game in more than a week.
Yamil Rondon had a big game scoring 28 points to lead Cooper. Shaun Pouncy gave the Jaguars an inside presence scoring 17 points and Jaidan Combs scored 13 with Isaac Brown scoring nine.
The Bluebirds had Brayden Moeves and Hank Shick score 21 and 17 points, respectively and Nathan Vinson add 11.
Highlands (8-8) has lost three in a row. The Bluebirds travel to Dixie Heights on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Cooper (9-6) travels to Ryle for a 33rd District game on Friday at 6 p.m. The 78 points was their highest output of the season to date.
Ryle 68, Grant County 61
The Raiders won their second straight in the non-region game.
Ryle put four players in double figures. Anthony Coppola led the way with 19 points and Jonathan DeGroff scored 15. Grady Reynolds and Landon Lorms scored 12 each.
Ryle (8-6) hosts Cooper on Friday at 6 p.m.
Covington Catholic 78, Conner 53
The Colonels dominated the boards, 44-29 and hit 50% from the field.
Brady Hussey led CovCath with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Caden Miller followed with 18 points and eight rebounds and Cash Harney scored 17 with Athens McGillis contributing eight.
Finn Louden led Conner with 19 points and Brady Bushman scored 10. The Cougars shot 38% from the field.
CovCath (11-4) has won four straight. The Colonels play at Holmes on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Conner (3-11) has lost four in a row. The Cougars travel to Boone County for a 6 p.m. game Friday.
Mason County 68, Campbell County 66
The Camels lost at the buzzer on the road when Mason County sophomore Jake Feldhaus put in an offensive rebound.
Connor Weinel led Campbell County with 21 points and Garyn Jackson scored 19 as seven different Camels scored.
Campbell County (11-3) had its three-game winning streak snapped. The Camels travel to Lloyd Memorial on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Harrison County 76, Scott 73
The Eagles attempted a shot at the buzzer, but were unable to send the game to overtime in the 10th Region road tilt.
Dylan Giffen and Xarek Sarakatsannis scored 16 points each to lead Scott. Connor Griffin followed with 11. Carter Eten, Kaymon Coleman and Jon Evans scored eight each.
Harrison County senior point guard Kaydon Custard scored 31 points in his return from injury.
Scott (8-8) travels to Lloyd Memorial on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Lloyd Memorial 56, Simon Kenton 44
EJ Walker eclipsed the 1,000-point total for his career in the victory.
The junior forward scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Juggernauts earned their fifth straight win. Isaiah Sebastian had 14 points, Carter Bresser with 10.
Lloyd (10-4) hosts Campbell County on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Simon Kenton (5-10) returns to the floor on Friday at Walton-Verona at 7:30 p.m.

Sierra McCoin hit the game-winning shot with 5.5 seconds left to lift the Juggernauts to the win.
Maleah Ham scored 12 points and McCoin finished with 11. Brooklyn Auclerc scored 10 and Mya Holden added nine.
Lloyd Memorial (6-8) has won three in a row. The Juggernauts travel to Lloyd Memorial on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Boone County (3-11) has lost its last two games by two points. The Rebels host Conner on Friday at 8 p.m.
Dixie Heights 45, East Central 30 (Indiana)

Catherine Buddenberg scored 15 points helping the Colonels snap a four-game losing streak in the defensive battle on the road.
Dixie Heights (6-8) travels to St. Henry on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Fleming County 62, Scott 58
The Eagles dropped a tight road game playing their first of three in a row.
Madeline Spencer led Scott with 18 points, making five three-pointers and Kaia Peterson scored 10 with Noelle Price scoring nine.
Scott (11-4) hosts Highlands on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Ludlow 57, Dayton 30
Ludlow crashed the boards hard in their victory over Dayton, pulling down 45 rebounds.
Addy Garrett led the way with 25 points and seven rebounds, Prestyn King with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Dayton was paced by Lanaya Torres and Zoe Sparks with 10 points apiece. Sparks added seven rebounds.
Ludlow (9-7) faces Lloyd Memorial on Friday at home at 7:30 p.m. Dayton (4-12) plays at Villa Madonna on Friday at 7 p.m.
