St. Henry and Ludlow met in the first round of the boys All “A” 9th Region Tournament and the Crusaders won by a closer margin than their 32-point margin on Dec. 27, earning a 69-59 victory this time around.
Andrew Reis led the Crusaders with 28 points making five 3-pointers. Brady Shea and Carson Shea followed scoring 12 and 11, respectively, and Ryan Hartman scored eight as St. Henry made 12 three-pointers.
Spencer Brandenburg led Ludlow with 21 points and Ethan Powell scored 12.
The Crusaders snapped a two-game losing streak with the win. St. Henry (5-9) faces Holy Cross on Tuesday at 6 p.m. back at Bellevue in the quarterfinals.
Ludlow (7-8) had its three-game winning streak snapped. The Panthers travel to Bishop Brossart on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Bellevue 74, Dayton 60
The Tigers advanced in the 9th Region All “A” tournament and will face Newport Central Catholic on Wednesday at home at 6 p.m.
The winner will get Newport in Friday’s semifinals at 7:45 p.m. Newport advanced to the semifinals after Heritage Academy forfeited the quarterfinal contest between the two.

Newport Central Catholic 55, Roger Bacon (Ohio) 42
The Thoroughbreds quickly bounced back from the All “A” region championship loss to Holy Cross on Saturday with their 10th win of the season.
Caroline Eaglin led the way scoring 24 points, making all six free-throw attempts and Laney Green scored 13 points. NewCath made 12-of-13 free throws to pull away.
NewCath (10-4) hosts St. Henry on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Walton-Verona 57, Pendleton County 34
The Bearcats won their 10th game of the season taking care of a shorthanded Pendleton County team that played without its two leading scorers in Lilly Ashcraft and Hannah Spaulding.
“That was important for me to have a quick turnaround so that we could stay focused on the overall big picture of the season,” Walton-Verona head coach Rianna Gayheart said. “They played well.”
Walton-Verona (10-7) has won five in a row. The Bearcats host Scott on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
