Northern Kentucky beat Coppin State on Sunday night, 82-70, at BB&T Arena in Highland Heights.
With the win, the Norse improved to 3-1 on the season.
NKU was led by Dantez Walton’s 24 points (a career high) and Tyler Sharpe’s 23 points. Sharpe made six of twelve 3-point attempts in the win.
Karl Harris added 14 points for Northern Kentucky.
NKU hit 14 3-point shots on 35 attempts.
The game marked the first time since last march that Northern Kentucky had two players score more than 20 points in a game.
On Wednesday, NKU travels to Ball State for a 7 p.m. game. Ball State University’s president is Geoffrey Mearns who took that position when he left the presidency at NKU in 2017.
