Residents of Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties can drop off various hazardous waste items at Frederick’s Landing in Wilder on Saturday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Dubbed the “Pop-Up Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event,” it’s organized by the Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area and sponsored by the Kentucky Division of Waste Management. The event is free and open to residents of all three counties, but residents are encouraged to register online in advance.

Crews will accept certain items but not others. Consult the lists below to see what’s eligible.

Accepted Items:

  • Electronics
  • Up to two TVs per household
  • Aerosol cans 
  • Household cleaners 
  • Pesticides and poisons 
  • Corrosives, flammables and fuels 
  • Cylinders and tanks 
  • Smoke detectors 
  • Light bulbs 

Items Not Accepted:

  • Appliances 
  • Paint of any kind
  • Fertilizer 
  • Medications 
  • Tires 
  • Ammo & explosives
  • Radioactive materials
