Red Bike, the Cincinnati-based bike share organization with stations in Covington, Newport, and Bellevue, will debut its new e-bikes this week.

The new electric-powered bicycles will launch at the Eden Park Red Bike station on Fulton Avenue in Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley will join other parties in the event.

It starts at 11 a.m.

There will be one hundred such bikes available around the city.

The bikes are powered with a small battery that assist riders while pedaling.

Currently, Red Bike has six stations in Covington, three in Newport (with more on the way), and two in Bellevue, along with dozens in Cincinnati. The bikes are available for rent at each station for rides of up to one hour at a time before they must be checked in again, at which point they can be re-rented by the rider.
