learning luau

The Life Learning Center (LLC) is hosting a festive Hawaiian “Learning Luau” for 100 families in their facility on June 30 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

This Luau, sponsored by United Way of Greater Cincinnati, will offer free food, family activities and games. There will be a town hall discussion on serving those in poverty for parents while children enjoy popcorn and the movie “Lilo and Stitch”.

This unique event is intended for families to have fun in addition to discussing a challenging community issue. Life Learning Center hopes that by listening to community members’ perspectives and concerns, they will have insight to better serve those in poverty. Families can register for this event online through Eventbrite or call 859-431-0100.

The Learning Luau is the kick-off to the Life Learning Center’s “Journey to Change in July” event series. LLC will be offering Movie Mania Mondays, Talking Point Tuesdays, Work Out Wednesdays and Family Game Nights on Thursday evenings. There will also be a Volunteer Interest & Appreciation Fair on July 21 along with a Job & Resource fair on July 28. Events are posted on the Life Learning Center website calendar and open to the public.

The Life Learning Center, a nonprofit agency based in Covington and serving the entire Greater Cincinnati area, provides a holistic, integrated continuum of learning and care to help “at risk” individuals achieve their highest potential and become more productive, satisfied members of the community.  Components of the program provide participants with the tools, accountability and support they need to achieve real change, lasting success and reach a rightful level of dignity in society.
