Seniors Angela Warning and Daniel Zalla were given the “Distinguished Athlete Award” at the Covington Latin School sports banquet.
Staff Sergeant Andrew Burdorf, USMC, presented the award to the two students.
The award was given to Warning and Zalla for displaying courage, poise, self-confidence, and leadership as high school athletes. Warning was a five year player of volleyball and softball while Zalla played five years of golf and four years of basketball.
“We had so many students that qualified for these two awards,” said Athletic Director Andy Peters. “The difference for these two athletes was that they are leaders not only among their peers, but also among the younger students.”
