Beginning on Thursday, May 5, students, advocates, entrepreneurs, business leaders, academics and researchers from disciplines across the life sciences industry, including therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, health care information technology, health and wellness technology, nutrition and agriculture will gather in Covington for a special three-day event, The Derby Partnering Summit.
The life science community is critical in helping us better understand the world around us, discovering new cures, and ultimately, saving lives. Attendees of this year’s Derby Partnering Summit will discuss how people across the field can all work together, locally and nationally, to make Kentucky a true hotbed for life science and biotechnology in the coming years.
The event is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Embassy Suites River Center in Covington.
From workshops and seminars to speakers and networking opportunites, the event features something for all attendees.
The schedule of events is as follows:
Day 1: Developing your career in the life sciences – A half day of seminars, speakers and networking opportunity to help students, academics and researchers explore career opportunities in the life sciences as well as explore new ways to partner with leading companies in the biotechnology field.
Day 2: Life Science Industry Partnering – A full day of partnering activities focused on bring together entrepreneurs, business leaders and patient advocates to explore opportunities to advance the life sciences in our region. Panel discussions and speakers will be followed by a reception exploring one of Kentucky’s greatest biotechnology products, Bourbon!
Day 3: The Kentucky Derby – Spend the day with industry leaders at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby. Enjoy all the festivities in first class style at Kentucky’s greatest sporting event
