The field for the next class at UpTech is narrowed to eighteen.
The Covington-based business accelerator specializing in support for informatics start-ups announced its semi-finalists for its third class, UpTech III.
A panel of more than forty judges reviewed applications throughout the spring.
The semi-finalists:
- Dr. Scribbles:Â Transforms standard exam room bench paper into a virtual and interactive experience
- DwellHop:Â A marketing service for real estate agents
- FitgooTech:Â A virtual fitting room providing customers with an optimized online clothes shopping experience
- Hapzing:Â A mobile app and activity-driven publishing platform
- HomeMiner:Â Provides marketing solutions for the real estate industry by using predictive data analytics
- Hydration monitoring device:Â A small, submersible electronic device generating an automatic record of individual hydration levels
- Identif-Eye:Â A facial recognition app for the medical industry, specifically for emergency room patients
- linkedü: Offers K-12 teachers a social content sharing platform to streamline the lesson planning process
- Monetyze, LLC:Â Provides e-commerce strategy, solutions, and services to the licensing industry
- Nekst:Â A real estate application that converts the closing process into a simple, organized, and transparent experience
- NomNom Nation: A mobile app where individuals can donate to local foodbanks and view reports on how their donations are allocated
- Portfolio Suite, MyBook:Â Helps actors, singers, models, dancers, and other entertainers create and organize their portfolios, bookings, finances, and more with an app
- Seesaw:Â A platform that gives parents a way to plan parties, playdates, and other family-friendly activities
- The Filling Station, D.D.S.:Â An online tool and mobile app that connects dental hygienists with dental offices looking to fill openings on their staff or schedule
- Travel Notes:Â Communicates travel plans to financial institutions to prevent credit and debit card denials
- Wayger:Â A mobile app where users can bet on the outcomes of sporting events against friends and earn rewards
- What’s Next: An app that connects artists and fans during concerts through voting
- Wholesome: A nutrition app that focuses on foods’ nutritional values when making eating choice
These semi-finalists will be further judged before the winners are announced. The finalists will each be offered up to $50,000 of investment, six months worth of free office space in Covington, a seasoned mentor, and a team of business professionals in the accounting, legal, banking, and marketing areas.
31% of this year’s applications came from out of the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area.
