Dayton Independent Schools will disclose the settlement details of civil litigation it filed against former Superintendent William Gary Rye at  a news conference on Thursday afternoon.

Rye was the subject of a lengthy review by Kentucky Auditor Adam Edelen in March that accused of him in a $224,000 fraud against the district.

The press conference will include a release of the details of the settlement between the Schools and Mr. Rye and the District’s former independent auditor as well as a review of the actions taken by Dayton Independent Schools, the Kentucky School Board Association, and the Kentucky Department of Education to insure that internal controls are in place to prevent future financial fraud.

Kentucky State Auditor, Adam Edelen, and Associate Commissioner of Education, Hiren Desai, will also be in speaking at this event.

The news conference starts at 2 p.m. in the Jack Moreland Auditorium at the Dayton Board of Education. The River City News will have it covered for you.
