The girls 10th Region soccer tournament semifinals took place Wednesday night at Bishop Brossart with one 37th District team advancing to the finals, the other losing a heartbreaker in penalty kicks.
Campbell County 8, Harrison County 0
Jozie Holmes and Kennedy Crowley scored two goals apiece as the Camels mercy-ruled the Fillies.
Ryan Weghorn, Kaylie Scales, Chloe Bowling and Hailey Roomes also found the back of the net as they head to Thursday’s region championship game. The Camels are in search of their first title since 2021.
Caitlin Crowley registered four assists, Weghorn, Roomes and Micah Dawson also recording assists in the victory.
The trio of Abi Medaugh, Abigail Maszor and Morgan Roomes provided the clean sheet without having to make a save.
Campbell County (13-8-3) will face GRC at 7 p.m., back at Bishop Brossart.
George Rogers Clark 1, Bishop Brossart 1 (GRC won 4-2 in penalty kicks)
All square at 1-1 after regulation and extra time, the Cardinals were able to knock off Brossart in the region tournament for the second straight season.
Rachel Shewmaker scored the lone goal for the Lady ‘Stangs, Larah Callahan providing the assist. Madeline Broering made nine saves in goal.
The loss ends Bishop Brossart’s season at 16-5-4. They were able to secure a second consecutive 37th District title and won an All “A” state championship this season.
GRC has defeated Campbell County twice in the regular season, both by 3-1 margins in August.
