The LINK nky Team of the Week for Sep. 1-Sept. 7 presented by Ortho Cincy is the Dixie Heights boys soccer team.
The Colonels took collected over 1,100 votes and accounted for a little more than 50% of the total votes.
A bonus is that they are now eligible for Team of the Season (TOS) for the fall. There will also be a winter and spring winner. Each TOS winner will receive a $500 scholarship that will go to an athlete of their choice and they will then be considered for Team of the Year (TOY)
For the team that is awarded TOY, online and print articles will again be published, a large commemorative plaque will be presented and the school will receive an additional $500 scholarship to be presented to the athlete of their choice at the end of the school year. The call for nominations, voting and winning announcement for each will follow the same format as the TOTW.
DIXIE HEIGHTS BOYS SOCCER

The Colonels have won seven of their last eight games.
In that span, they have outscored their opponents 24-10, including a 3-0 shutout of Cooper. They also defeated Campbell County (2-1) on Sep. 3 and St. Henry (4-1) the following night to move to 7-5.
Trevor Bolte and Donovan Lameier lead the team with five goals while Ezequiel Bautista has four and Luke McElheney has three. Lameier leads the team with five assists, Bolte and Bautista with three.
Cole Grimes and Aiden Susner have split goalkeeping duties, Grimes with 31 saves and Susner with 26. Neither are allowing more than one goal a game.
Dixie has just five games left in the regular season, including a four-game home stretch coming against Elder (OH), Boone County, Highlands, and Conner.
