Scott High School will be looking for their fourth football coach since 2022.

Justin Franklin resigned on Wednesday after two seasons at the helm. He went 5-15 in his two seasons in Taylor Mill.

Franklin cited the distance to and from his residence and the challenges that created living in Carroll County.

“At this time in my life the challenge of the commute, finding coaches and spending time in the Taylor Mill community is an impossibility for me,” Franklin said in a statement released to the Scott Football X account.

The Eagles went 3-7 in 2025, the offense posting 308 points and good for 30.8 points per game. They surrendered 386 points and missed out on the postseason for the third straight year.

“Over the last two seasons we have broken several offensive records, grown the roster, inspired facility upgrades and began the challenging process of developing the underclassmen,” Franklin said. “There is no doubt that the program is in a better place than it was two years ago.”

The 2025 roster had 74 players on the KHSAA website, just 10 of them seniors.

After Eric Turner resigned in 2022, the school hired Jake Owens, but resigned six months later due to having to move back to Florida three weeks before the 2023 season was set to begin. Steve Hensley filled in on an emergency basis for the 2023 season and then they hired Franklin in February 2024.

The school stated they are now accepting applications for their next head coach. If interested, send a resume and cover letter to casey.fisk@kenton.kyschools.us and apply here: https://www.applitrack.com/kenton/omlineapp/default.aspx?ApplTrackJobID=55406ref=
