Beechwood High School English Teacher Molly Seifert has been named one of nine teachers in the commonwealth and the only teacher in Northern Kentucky to receive the 2027 Kentucky Teacher Achievement Awards from the Kentucky Department of Education.
All nine teachers, including Seifert, will be put in the running for the 2027 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award.
“Ms. Seifert has demonstrated excellence in her 20 years at Beechwood,” reads a social media announcement from the district. “Her impact on all students is evident both inside and outside the classroom. She has contributed to the fabric of what makes Beechwood special!”
All recipients will receive cash prizes and will be honored at a ceremony in Frankfort in September. The overall teacher of the year will receive $10,000 and will be able to do a six-month sabbatical with the Kentucky Department of Education.
“We are so proud of the highly skilled educators across our state, and it is an honor to be able to recognize these outstanding professionals,” Kentucky Commissioner of Education Robbie Fletcher said. “These teachers truly embody what it means to go above and beyond in helping students prepare for their future.”
