The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. The poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.
Going from Class 6A on down to 1A, seven Northern Kentucky teams remain in their respective top 10’s. Ryle dropped a spot to No. 7 in the 6A poll after a loss to Highlands, Cooper dropped two spots to No. 5 in 5A after a loss to DuPont Manual, in 4A, Highlands stayed put at No. 4 after a win over Ryle and Covington Catholic dropped a spot to No. 6 despite a win over Beechwood, Lloyd Memorial moved up one to No. 6 in 3A, Beechwood remained in the No. 1 spot in 2A and has eight of 16 first-place votes. Holy Cross is the lone 1A team ranked, jumping a spot to No. 8.
Simon Kenton (6A), Newport and Newport Central Catholic (1A) are in the others receiving votes category for their respective class.
