The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. The poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.
Going from Class 6A on down to 1A, seven Northern Kentucky teams remain in their respective top 10’s. Ryle dropped two spots to No. 6 in the 6A poll after a loss to CAL, Cooper moved up a spot to No. 3 in 5A after their second straight win, Highlands dropped two spots to No. 4 after a loss to Boyle County and Covington Catholic jumped one from No. 6 to No. 5 in 4A after their second straight win, Lloyd Memorial remained at No. 7 in 3A and off to a 4-0 start with reigning champ Beechwood still in the No. 1 spot in 2A and receiving 14 of 16 first-place votes. Holy Cross is the lone 1A team ranked, jumping a spot to No. 9.
Simon Kenton (6A), Conner (5A), Newport and Newport Central Catholic (1A) are in the others receiving votes category for their respective class.
