The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. The poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.

In the ninth edition of the media poll, Ryle, Newport and Ludlow all rose in their respective class. The Raiders moved from No. 6 to No. 5 in 6A, Newport up from No. 8 to No. 7 in Class A, Ludlow from No. 10 to No. 8, also in Class A.

Everywhere else things pretty much remained the same. Cooper still holds firm as the unanimous No. 1 in Class 5A, clinching their first undefeated regular season in program history with a win over Dixie Heights last week. Highlands remains No. 4 in 5A, Conner one spot out of being ranked at No. 11 in Class 5A in the others receiving votes category. Covington Catholic didn’t drop, but Ashland Blazer moved into a tie for fifth with the Colonels in Class 4A. Lloyd Memorial stays put at No. 9 in 3A while Beechwood continues to be No. 2 in 2A. Newport Central Catholic remained firm at No. 6 in 1A. Bishop Brossart is a spot out from being the fourth NKY team to be ranked in 1A, coming in at No. 11 in the others receiving votes category.

Next week’s poll will be the final one of the season.
