The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. The poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.
In the eighth edition of the media poll, very limited movement among the 11 northern Kentucky teams that are either ranked or showing up in the others receiving votes category. Lloyd Memorial (3A) dropped from No. 7 to No. 9 after their loss to Lexington Catholic while Bishop Brossart (1A) dropped out of the top 10 after their loss to Ludlow. Newport (1A) moved up from 10th to 8th while Ludlow (1A) is now ranked 10th. Conner (5A) dropped out of the top 10 after their loss to Highlands.
Cooper (No. 1 in 5A) is now the unanimous No. 1 after Bowling Green’s loss to South Warren. Ryle (No. 6 in 6A), Highlands (No. 4 in 5A), Covington Catholic (No. 5 in 4A), Beechwood (No. 2 in 2A) and Newport Central Catholic (No. 6 in 1A) all stayed in the same spot.
