Covington Catholic 56, Holmes 0
The Colonels jumped up 22-0 in the first quarter and rested their starters the rest of the way in this Class 4A, District 5 matchup in Covington.
CovCath (4-2) won their fourth straight game in the process while Holmes (0-6) remains winless. The Colonels rushed for seven touchdowns, passed for another as they racked up 297 yards on 25 plays.
Covington Catholic forced five turnovers in the contest while eight different players found the end zone.
The two are back at it next week as CovCath hosts Grant County on Oct. 4, Holmes plays at Mason County on the same day.
Friday, Sept. 27
Cincinnati College Prep Academy 42, Holy Cross 0 (at Thomas More)
CCPA led 12-0 after one, 28-0 at halftime and scored two touchdowns in the fourth in blanking the Indians.
Holy Cross (1-4) returns to action next week when they play at Morgan County.

The Cougars rushed for 213 yards and five touchdowns as they won their fourth straight game in this Class 5A, District 6 opener.
Cordion Abernathy ran for two touchdowns, Mason Buckler, Shepherd Dozier and Grayson Montgomery the others. Wyatt Hatfield added a passing touchdown to Montgomery as well.
The Conner defense also found the end zone twice, Hatfield with an interception return for a touchdown, Aydin Depenbrock with a fumble return for a score. The Cougars allowed 75 total yards in the contest.
Conner (5-1, 1-0) gets back at it on Thursday when they play at Cooper. Scott (1-4, 0-1) hosts Boone County on Friday.

Monday, Sept. 30
Ludlow 58, Pendleton County 12
Dameyn Anness ran for a touchdown, caught a touchdown and returned a punt for a touchdown in the Panthers 46-point victory in Butler on Monday night.
Anness totaled 153 yards rushing and receiving, the majority of them coming in the run game with 124 yards on seven carries. Ludlow (3-2) churned out 309 yards and four touchdowns in the run game, Miller Reed, Byron Conley and Aiden Smith-Baxley also finding the end zone via the rush. Brayden McDaniel added another touchdown for the special teams with a kickoff return for a score.
Spencer Brandenburg was the Panthers defensive standout as he led with seven tackles and added an interception. Ludlow sacked the quarterback three times, Gabe Payne, Carson Evans and Tyler Crafton able to get to the quarterback.
Bellevue 46, Gamble Montessori (OH) 0
Jordan Pendleton rushed for 275 yards and five touchdowns on just 12 carries as the Tigers secured their third straight victory (3-1).
Bellevue forced Gamble into four turnovers, Brayden Sizemore with three interceptions, one of them returned for a touchdown while Tristan Woodyard had the other interception.
Will Lear added 52 yards and a touchdown in the ground game.
Bellevue plays at Ludlow on Friday.
