The Kentucky High School Football Media Poll is conducted by 16 sports journalists throughout the state, with one representative for each of the 16 basketball regions in order to provide geographical balance. The poll will be released each Wednesday morning throughout the regular season.

In the fourth edition of the media poll, there’s a new No. 1 in Class 5A and it’s the Cooper Jaguars. Cooper jumped Bowling Green after their 62-36 victory over Great Crossing. Highlands also jumped a spot headed into their showdown with Cooper on Friday, moving up to No. 3 in 5A. Ryle stayed put in a tie for sixth in 6A fresh off their win over the No. 1 team in 3A, CAL. Beechwood held firm at No. 2 in 2A after their loss to Covington Catholic, the Colonels the No. 5 team in 4A.

Lloyd Memorial made their poll debut at No. 9 in 3A while Newport Central Catholic (No. 6 in 1A) and Newport (No. 9 in 1A) are holding it down in 1A.

Campbell County (6A), Conner (5A), Bishop Brossart (1A) and Ludlow (1A) appeared in the others receiving votes category.
